Get started with Zurp

Its been a while since my last update on my project Soci.al which is now renamed as "Zurp". Starting with the name, Zurp seems pretty weird. My friends and I were writing for many name suggestions for Soci.al and had like in hundreds, however finally opted for Zurp. We had no idea what Zurp really meant initially. We looked over the web and finally spotted its meaning to be "All of the bad words combined together". It was pretty good and weird.

When I start speaking of Zurp to anyone, the first question I encounter is "How does it differ from the rest?". There are like a Zillions of new feature which you had never seen. You can have a peek of it at the Beta signup page. Moving on with the progress with Zurp, People can now sign up for the beta Zurp here (http://infaround.com/zurp).

The interesting and Unique feature in the Zurp Beta signup page is that its gesture enabled. You heard that right. If you are using Chrome or Safari, any other which uses Webkit engine, you can enjoy this feature. Just visit the page, click "Allow" below the URL bar to allow to get feed from your Webcam. Wave your hands up/down to open the signup dialog box and wave left/right to close it.

Below is an image demonstrating how Zurp recognizes your hand. However it will not be visible. There will be more new cool features coming by, so don't forget to sign up to get notified.

A good day for a head start

Its been months since I had logged in to my blog as I had been almost buried up with tons of projects and finally this Saturday spared me some time to update myself as well as my blog. Starting Infaround was like my dream came true, I spent many restless nights working on it and finally brought it into what it is today. After around half a year, It goes well just as I hoped it to be.

Moving on, I started to work on many web projects. On my 19th birthday, I made InfaSocial, a Social Network under Infaround to go live which was one of a milestone. Later I worked on a gesture based website which I named it as "Gesture", its not live though yet.

InfaSocial is like a baby now, immature. On a regular discussion with my mates, an idea of launching a Social Network much wider than InfaSocial sprouted and we quickly shared our ideas on various features which can be implemented. Unlike others existing now, We wanted it to be ad free, take the idea of social networking to next level and also make it a platform more than just sharing.

And We were struck on naming it. Thousands sparked our mind, but we wanted something simple, and also depicts our idea. So I came to a name simply "Soci.al" later. The idea is simple - Connect the people without the need to sell them.

We started from scratch, came up with many new features which will be beneficial for people in all their aspects. Although everything sounds really cool, time and resources mattered. So I started initially on the sketches which had been previously made for InfaSocial and after a sleepless night, I had the announcement page for Soci.al completed. The domain isn't registered yet and I had to bring it online through my Dropbox.

The announcement page was made to be simple and at the same time to convey our whole concept in a blink. It will take months to get it done, but rest assured Soci.al will make you enjoy and relive the every minute you spend on it. I will occasionally share the updates of Soci.al here in my blog. I believe that this day will be my head start of my future. Until then head on to Soci.al announcement page and share your thoughts here.

Log #12 14-11-2012

The day after the festival of light. So much of a normal day till now. Coffee in the morning, Power cut.. blah..blah... Google yesterday has opened the booking of their Nexus 4 droids in Google Play and many tweeps have complained the poor booking service. Google Play - where Google plays with people.

A week ago, a friend of mine was installing Assassin's Creed : Revelations game in his laptop. I am not much of a game boy. Accidentally, I listened to the BGM of the installation setup and I had some sort of spark in my head. Unaware of what it was, I googled it and found that it was Woodkid's Iron. The song kinda had an impact on me than any others. The dark theme, the drums, the voice of Woodkid was just awesome.

Watched one of the anticipated movies of the year "Skyfall" with my friends. Adele title song was the "Best". I was searching for the music video all the time and finally found it in Vimeo.
